Rising River is a writing retreat for children's book authors led by Jacqueline Davies. For
three days and three nights, Jackie opens her home to a small and dedicated group of writers who gather to work, to give and receive constructive criticism, to talk about issues important in the field of writing for children,
and to support each other.
The days are filled with lecture/workshops,
peer-critique sessions, one-on-one sessions with Jackie, and long stretches of individual
writing time. In the evenings, everyone gathers for a communal
dinner—a chance to unwind with fellow writers in a warm and congenial atmosphere.

a setting that has been designed to meet the needs of
